Actual length of Medicare coverage is determined by your progress in alignment with CMS criteria.

For those with commercial insurance plans or Medicare Advantage plans, the stay is case managed by the insurance company or their representative vendor. These case managers review clinical information and determine whether the stay meets skilled clinical standards for continued coverage. 

This seems to be a very common misconception. However, the Medicare and Medicare Advantage regulations are very clear.  A patient is eligible for UP TO 100 days in a rehabilitation facility. Medicare or Medicare Advantage plans require that measurable improvements are being made during the stay AND “daily skilled care that can only be provided in a facility”, is required.  Once a resident no longer requires  daily skilled care, as defined under the Medicare rules, or the resident has stopped making measurable progress either because they have achieved their previous level of function or have plateaued with their progress their short-term stay must end.  We will assist you and your family with setting up home care and therapy at home in accordance with your insurance benefits.

In accordance with Federal and State regulations a skilled nursing facility is not allowed to use restraints or alarms in an effort to prevent falls. Studies have shown that the use of these restraints or alarms can actually harm a resident causing injury, strangulation and/or reaction that would cause the resident to fall when they otherwise may not have.

We are obligated to follow the W-10 from the hospital when you are admitted here. If you have questions or concerns about these medications please feel free to discuss it with our APRN or nursing staff.

Admission to our facility under short term rehabilitation is for a finite period of time.  Once you have reached your maximum level of function or no longer require skilled care as defined by Medicare you will move  to the next level of your rehabilitation. This will involve nursing and/or therapy services in the home as approved by your insurance company.

You have two options for laundry at our facility.  Laundry can be done at the facility or can be taken home and laundered at home.  PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL CLOTHING IS LABELED WITH AN INDELIBLE MARKER OR LAUNDRY MARKER.  If you have ever put two socks in the washing machine and only found one out of the dryer you can start to understand why we cannot be responsible for items misplaced or damaged in our laundry.

For the privacy and comfort of all of our residents our suggested visiting hours are 7 days a week 10am – 8pm. Should you need to visit before or after these hours please check with our front desk.

The following amenities are included in your stay: TV, phone, wi-fi, laundry, daily recreation programs and selective menus for meals. Additional amenities that can be purchased include: weekly hairdressing appointments including color, cuts, beard and mustache services, manicures, and many other salon services.
