Meet Marge
As a point for a semi-pro basketball team in her younger days, Ivoryton resident, Marge Baroni has a real passion for the game... And as an active senior, she still has. But at a recent Connecticut Sun game, her excitement got the best of her and she fell, shattering her knee. Living alone proved a challenge after her Emergency Room stay. Marge needed assistance and was given a choice of several rehab centers.
"I selected Gladeview based on looks, cleanliness and the spacious rooms."
After receiving care for a few weeks at Gladeview Rehabilitation & Health Care Center following her hospital stay, Marge says "If you need to be in a place for nursing care or for rehabilitation, this is a wonderful place."
Gladeview Suits Bill Just Fine...
Bill Suits, 76, from Old Saybrook admits he can be a difficult man to handle at times. "I don't like to be inactive," Bill says. Active for a man half his age, Bill has been a runner for 30 years, sells real estate and is a Rotary Club member. Slowing down was just not an option.
But then acute respiratory failure struck and paralyzed him for weeks. He could no longer walk independently, and his body felt constantly weak.
As soon as he was admitted to Gladeview, a therapist placed him on a vigorous rehabilitation program. Thanks to therapy and the help of an obliging nursing staff, Bill was soon back on his feet and walking on his own. But it wasn't easy.
He was encouraged every step of the way and at times, pushed just enough to succeed.
"It's the people that make Gladeview great," Bill admits. "If you need care, Gladeview is an excellent place to be."
Gladeview Cares
My wife Ruth has been
at Gladeview now for almost 2 years, and we could not be happier. I visit
Ruth every day and am so impressed with the excellent care she is receiving.
She is comfortable and healthy. Her caregivers go above
and beyond every day. I see how dedicated her therapists are when it
comes to her treatment and overall quality of life. “I know we made the
